Surf Hat is a cool indie surf-rock band from Squamish, British Columbia, Canada. They're known for their unique style called "cold water psych-surf," which has made them popular in the music scene. The band members are Jon Allan who plays the guitar and sings. His music style is influenced by bands like Talking Heads and Allah-Las. Evan Camm plays the drums and also helps with the band's visual style, like their music videos. Adam Ravalia plays the bass guitar and adds depth to their music.

Surf Hat started with Jon Allan and Adam Ravalia, who have been friends for over a decade. They later included Evan Camm in the band. The name "Surf Hat" shows their love for surfing and the ocean, which inspire their music and lyrics. According to drummer Evan Camm, their songs come together naturally and effortlessly. This approach allows the band to explore new creative ideas and keep developing their sound.

In 2022, the trio released their self titled album. This album has 8 tracks on it that include "Bowling Alley Thug," "Diane," "Jester," "Hang 'Em Up," and "Sci-Fi Disco." This album helped the band build their fanbase. Surf Hat released their second album titled Surf Hat Ranch in 2024. This album has 10 songs on it that include "Automatic Years," "Feelin's Gone," "Cats & Dogs," "Ghost Story," "Henhouse," and "On A Roll." This album showcases the band's growth. Songs like "Ghost Story" and "Feelin's Gone" have become fan favorites.

Surf Hat puts on great live shows, which have helped them build a loyal fan base. They have done small tours and are planning to tour the US at some point in the future. Their music videos often feature beautiful Squamish scenery and have become popular on Instagram. Surf Hat has established itself as a prominent force in the Canadian indie rock scene. Their unique blend of surf rock, psychedelia, and indie rock has resonated with audiences, and they have garnered support for their musicality and stage presence.

Surf Hat is a band that blends different musical influences, creativity, and a love for the ocean to create a unique and charismatic sound.
