“So Excited” – A Feel-Good Anthem for 2025

On March 5, 2025, Aussie surf-rock legends Skegss released their new song, So Excited. If you’re a fan of their catchy, high-energy tunes, this one won’t disappoint! The song kicks off with a bright, jangly guitar riff that instantly puts you in a good mood. Drummer Jonny Lani lays down a punchy beat that makes it impossible to sit still. As the song builds, frontman Ben Reed’s vocals bring that classic Skegss rawness, and by the time the chorus hits, you’ll be singing along. There’s even a cool little bass solo toward the end that adds a fun twist. It’s upbeat, fast-paced, meaning it’s got that lively, feel-good energy that Skegss are known for.
The song was produced by Chris Collins, who has worked with the band before on albums like Rehearsal and My Own Mess. According to Reed, So Excited came together pretty quickly in the studio, it was one of those songs that just felt right from the start. That effortless energy definitely comes through in the final version! Skegss teamed up with director Kale Neville for the music video. Reed said Neville really understood the vision for the song, and the result is a visual that perfectly complements the music.
Right after releasing the song, Skegss hit the road for a five-week North American tour. They kicked things off in Vancouver on the same day the single came out, and they’re making stops in major cities like Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York.
