Coming through your speakers today is Duff Thompson! From New Orleans Louisiana, He describes his sound as a swampy blend of folk, pop and garage rock.
Thompson began his interest in music at a young age building his skills. From there he played in multiple bands before shifting his focus on a solo career.

Teaming up with fellow artist Bill Howard, Thomson and Howard set out to record the music from the New Orleans community of musicians. With a borrowed reel to reel the crew would set up in makeshift places like vans, living rooms and other spaces. Capturing some incredible music the two recorded over 150 live tracks in the short time of five months. After Thompson worked on a couple different projects expanding the crew. Out of thst came Mashed Potato Records, creating a label to send the musical output of the city.

Duff Thompson made his Spotify Debut on April 24, 2020, with a single “some day lovers”. Thompson followed that up with two more single releases before he released his first album “Haywire”. As Duff Thompson’s train gained steam, the world was caving to covid 19. Thompson remains strong through out the situation and continued his work on the craft. All thought it would be some time before his next official release Thompson was steady producing and writing music.

August 18, 2023 Thompson erupted. Giving the world a single titled “Just Like Me” and by October 27, Duff Thompson unveiled the album Shadow People. This album properly showcased the writing skills and musical genius of this great artist. Thompson took off on a north American tour across USA, Canada and Europe, selling out crowds and co headlining for six straight weeks.

After returning home, it was back to the studio and life of production. In the summer of 2024 Duff Thompson presented the album “Shadow people II” explaining this album to be a more cohesive collection of songs that pushed his music further into the world of garage rock and indie rock. Quickly after the release Thompson hit the road headed to Cali to headline another short tour.
