After decades on the road, touring playing incredible stages and events. We have been hit with some sad news. Ween will be stepping away from the stage for what looks to be indefinitely. Days ago the band released an announcement on X, Informing fans on the situation and show cancellations. They expressed their pain for the situation, explaining Michael Melchiondo Jr. aka Dean Ween had been experiencing metal health issue. The band immediately took action to take care of their brother. We hope that time can heal these wounds and Deaner can make a full recover.
The band has been very active this year alone.
Recently Ween released two singles, on the run up to their September 27th album release for the 25th anniversary of their album, Chocolate and Cheese. The song Junkie Boy has been revived, this track was heard on a demo tape from Ween in the early 90s. This song has been brought back to life and released on June, 7th 2024. Then, Ween followed that release up with Voodoo Lady (demo) brought to the world on July 19th 2024.
Ween had major plans including a massive Philadelphia show to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Chocolate and Cheese. This show along with many more has been cancelled with refunds being made to fans. Bring an end to the busy schedule, fans around the world will miss Ween.
Ween is truly a modern day classic, from high fan praise to monumental career milestones, Ween has climbed the mountain of rock and roll. From the bands humble beginnings in 80s, they have always put on an incredible show and that is something we will all miss.
Maybe this well needed break will be a time for the band to reflect and repair. We stand with fans around the world in support of Ween. As we honor them as legends the memories and music from Weens live performances will never be forgotten.
