Today, we are talking about the trio band Goodbye June. The band was formed in 2005 by three cousins: Landon Milbourn (lead vocals, tambourine), Brandon Qualkenbush (rhythm guitar, bass, drums, backing vocals), and Tyler Baker (lead guitar). Tyler Baker lost his brother, who was home on military leave, in a car accident in June 2005. While Tyler had a hard time dealing with the loss of his brother, Brandon and Landon were there to support him. That's when the trio decided to form the band and call it Goodbye June to honor the memory of Tyler's brother.
Goodbye June draws inspiration from classic rock icons such as Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and The Rolling Stones, while also embracing modern elements like The Black Keys and Rival Sons. This fusion of old-school grit and contemporary flair forms the backbone of their musical identity.
The band decided to move to Nashville, Tennessee, in 2009, hoping for a big break. They played all the gigs they could around Music City. The trio gained attention through their live shows. They decided to release their debut independent album with Cotton Valley Records, titled Nor The Wild Music Flow in June 2012. This album had 11 songs on it that include "Man I Am," "Moonshine," "Out Of Your Mind," and "Microscope." The band also produced a video that the coach from the St. Louis Rams was featured in for the song "Microscope."
In 2013, Goodbye June went on to tour around Europe. They performed shows in Germany, Spain, France, Belgium, Sweden, Holland, and Finland. The band won first prize for the Unsigned Music Competition. They were awarded $10,000 cash and musical equipment in 2014. WOW! How cool is that! This brought the band attention from many in the industry.
In 2017, the band released their album titled Magic Valley. This album has 12 songs on it that include "Bamboozler," "Good Side," "Bad Things," and "Fear of Jesus." This album marked a significant milestone in their career and showcased their growth as songwriters and musicians. It also drew widespread attention in the rock music scene for Goodbye June.
The band released two singles titled "Blindly Follow Blindly" and "Get Happy." The trio also went on tour with Greta Van Fleet throughout Europe in 2018. In 2019, the group signed with the record label Earache. Goodbye June, along with the Earache Record label, released their next album titled Community Inn. This album has 12 songs on it that include "Rolling Off My Tongue," "Secrets In The Sunset," "Anywhere The Wind Blows," and "Free Child." This album was very well received and boosted their listeners on streaming services.
Goodbye June released their fourth album titled See Where The Night Goes in February 2022. This album has 11 songs on it that include "Step Aside," "Breathe And Attack," "Everlasting Love," and "Three Chords." This is a kick-butt album that further solidified the trio's position in the rock music arena. In April 2024, the band released a single "The Hard Way" and another single in May 2024, titled "Riding Through," both songs are from their upcoming new album set to release in June 2024. The album title is Deep in the Trouble.
Goodbye June is an amazing band, and we will continue to bring anything new that comes to our attention.
