Hello everyone! Today, we’re giving you an update on the band Fruit Bats. If you’re just learning about them now, they’re an incredible rock band from Chicago. They got started around 1997 and have been exceeding expectations ever since.
The band released their tenth full-length album, A River Running to Your Heart, in 2023, self-produced by band founder Eric D. Johnson with Jeremy Harris at Panoramic House near San Francisco. This album has been noted for its exploration of thematic and sonic elements, weaving together both physical and spiritual aspects of life.
The band has experienced a mid-career resurgence, attributed to Johnson’s emotional maturity seeping into their music, resulting in a sound that connects deeply with audiences. Their performances are praised for their engaging energy, diverse setlists spanning their catalog, and a mix of rock, psychedelia, country, and pop. Fans have described their shows as “spiritual experiences” with “immaculate vibes,” citing standout performances at venues like Brooklyn Bowl Nashville and The Casbah.
Fruit Bats have recently announced new tour dates for August 2025! They’re bringing the full band back on the road, returning to venues and festivals they haven’t visited in a long time and hitting some spots the band has never been to before.
