Jive Mother Mary, a band that has steadily gained recognition for its unique blend of rock, blues, and Southern soul, is a testament to the power of grassroots music. The band formed in 2006 in Burlington, North Carolina and was the brainchild of frontman Mason Keck, who at a young age held a love a for classic rock and blues. The other band members are Seth Aldridge on drums, Will Lowe on base, and Tyler Schulz on guitar. The quartet began playing shows in local venues and built a loyal following.
Jive Mother Mary's sound is a captivating blend of classic rock, southern rock, and blues, infused with a contemporary edge. Their music is a testament to their deep-seated admiration for many legendary acts pat and present. Yet, Jive Mother Mary manages to forge a unique identity, blendinding elements of their North Carolina upbringing into their music. In 2009, JMM released their album titled All Fall Down. This album has 10 songs on it that include "Let Me In," "Bedroom Eyes," "Save Me," "Move On Home," and "All Fall Down." This album was a booster for the bands career. The band released a 6 track EP in 2013 titled Big City Blues. Songs from this EP include "Keep On Keepin On," "Hollywood," and "I Tried To Let Go." In 2016, Jive Mother Mary released another EP titled Home Is Where The Heart Is. This EP has 5 songs on it that include "Feelin' Fine," "The Great Decline," and Planes, Trains, and Automobiles." These EP releases have further solidified their reputation as a force to be reckoned with in the rock scene.
Jive Mother Mary released their album titled The Long Odds in 2019. This album has 10 tracks on it that include "Look at Me Now (Good God Almighty)," "Burning Up The Highway," "Broader Shoulders," "Rabbit Holes," "Reprise," and "I Can't Get to Sleep." This album was well received and continued to help the band build their fanbase. In 2021, the band released their next album titled 8 Tracks. This album has 8 tracks on it that include "Hope It Ain't That Bad," "Big City Blues," "Don't Look Now, I'm Only Dreaming," "Road Song #17 (The Burger King Song)," and "Drive up to the Moon." This is the latest album to date to be released. Jive Mother Mary did release a sing titled "Save My Soul" in May 2024.
Jive Mother Mary is perhaps best known for their live performances.
