The Heavy, a band that has captured the hearts of millions with their soulful blend of rock, blues, and funk, arrived on the music scene of Bath, England, in 2007. The core of the band, vocalist Kelvin Swaby and guitarist Dan Taylor, shared a deep-rooted passion for vintage R&B and their enjoyment of Jim Jarmusch films. This unique blend of influences would become the foundation of their distinctive sound. The band was completed when Spencer Page (bass) and Chris Ellul (drums) were added.

In 2007, the band released their first album titled Great Vengeance and Furious Fire. This album has 10 songs on it that include "That Kind Of Man-(1.1)," "Set Me Free," "Doing Fine," "In The Morning," and "Who Needs The Sunshine?" This new album brought them attention from the likes of Spin Magazine and Rolling Stone. The Heavy released their second album titled The House That Dirt Built in 2009. This album has 10 tracks on it that include "Oh No! Not You Again," "How You Like Me Now," "Short Change Hero," "Long Way From Home," and "What You Want Me To Do?" This album catapulted them to international fame. The album's standout track, "How You Like Me Now?," became a massive hit, thanks in part to its use in various films, commercials, and television shows.

The Heavy went on a tour throughout the United States in August and September of 2012. This tour was sponsored by Miller Lite. The band also released their third album titled Glorious Dead in 20212. This album also has 10 songs on it that include "Can't Play Dead," "What Makes A Good Man?," "Just My Luck," "The Lonesome Road," and "Blood Dirt Love Stop." This album continued to help the band grow their fanbase around the world. In 2016, the band released their next album titled Hurt & Merciless. This album has 12 tracks on it that include "Since You Been Gone," What Happened to the Love?," "Nobody's Hero," "A Ghost You Can't Forget," "Slave To Your Love," and "Goodbye Baby." This album received positive reviews for its cohesive sound and emotional depth.

In 2019, the band released their next album titled Sons. This album has 11 songs on it that include "Heavy For You," "The Thief," "Fighting For The Same Thing," "Put The Hurt on Me," "What Don't Kill You," and "Burn Bright." With this album, it seems the band had a lot of fun and got funky while creating this gem. The Heavy released their most recent album titled Amen in 2023. This album has 10 songs o it that include "Hurricane Coming," "Bad Muthafucker," "Messing With My Mind," "Stone Cold Killer," and "Without A Woman." This album is The album received positive reviews for its cohesive sound and emotional depth.

Their music has also had a significant impact on popular culture. "How You Like Me Now?" in particular has been featured in numerous films, TV shows, and advertisements, solidifying its place as one of the most recognizable songs of the past decade. The Heavy's ability to blend different genres and create universally appealing music has earned them a diverse and dedicated fanbase. Their ability to connect with audiences on a deep emotional level has solidified their status as one of the most influential bands of their generation.
