Brooklyn-based band Night Spins is back in the Soundwave Music Media headlines, ready to reclaim their spot in the indie rock scene with their distinctive blend of garage pop and gritty rock 'n' roll. Known for their dark humor and rock attitude, Night Spins has carved out a niche that's both raw and refined, drawing comparisons to names like Iggy Pop and Modest Mouse.
Beginning the American South and latter relocating to New York City, the band has spent years releasing music and growing their fan base. Making it on to rock show No Cover, doing very well on the show with their high energy punk rock indie sound. The success of the bands time on No Cover led to Winter Madness.
In a interview with Soundbite media Night Spins told about their experience on Winter Madness..
"Winter Madness was a more kind of important moment for us in terms of the audience that we were trying to reach, which was Brooklyn. Cause we've always played more so in the Lower East Side, Manhattan. And so it kind of just came at the perfect moment where we were like, y'all, we gotta hit Brooklyn,”
Critics have noted their lyrics' dark realism and bluesy poeticism, echoing influences like Tom Waits, which resonate deeply with listeners.
Night Spins began touring and releasing more music finding more success opening for acts like Rainbow Kitty Surprise, Low Cut Connie and Brass Against.
Despite initial momentum cut short by the pandemic, Night Spins is gearing up for a new album. Working under the guidance of producer William Garrett, excitement is building as they prepare to unveil the first new single. The band has been hard at work in the studio and performing in the NYC area.
On July 10th, the band announced their 2024 tour, marking their comeback. With new band members on board and a slot at the rogue music festival in August, Night Spins is set to showcase their evolving sound and stage presence. Fans can anticipate a vibrant display of their signature style and a glimpse into what's next for this dynamic group.
