"PARTING WAYS WITH EPITAPH"

(Artist Report)

In the suburban sprawl of Whittier, California, amidst the humming streetlights, a rebellious pulse beats relentlessly. Today we dive into the band Plague Vendor, a punk band that's not just banging heads but rattling eardrums with their raw, unapologetic sound.

The band gets their start sometime before 2012, when they began attracting attention. Completely eviscerating stages and gaining connections with some rather awesome people by 2014 the band signed to Epitaph Records.

Since their explosive national debut with the album "Free to Eat" back in 2014, these California renegades have been on fire. After they ripped out a showcase of the songs they had been holding on to the completed “Free To Eat” raising the bar for the Cali punk sound. By this time the band was very polished and ready to go. They immediately began touring writing and expanding Plague Vendor fanbase. In 2016 the band released the bands second studio album “BLOODSWEAT.” Rocking the underground sound and this album carrying one of the bands most popular songs “Ox Blood”

In the year 2019 Plague Vendor would release the bands third album “By Night,” the track “New Comedown” blasting to over 2 million plays on Spotify and finding success with other music platforms. This 3 album set was a rock and roll manifesto and when it came to performances.. The band delivered, crashing through genres and expectations with the intensity of a midnight thunderstorm. Led by frontman Brandon Blaine's unmistakable vocals, backed by Jay Rogers' relentless guitar riffs, Michael Perez's thundering bass lines, and Luke Perine's unyielding drum beats. Tours seen high flying crowd surfing fans with a raging party vibe.

Their rock and roll path from 2012, opening for Social Distortion and eventually singing with Epitaph Records in 2014, had been nothing short of a punk rock odyssey. From the snarling energy of "Bloodsweat" in 2016 to the brooding depths of "By Night" in 2019, each album marks a progression without compromise. The band getting the chance to work with some phenomenal producers over the years. May 6th 2024, the band release a single “Tough Fucker” along with their EP “Rougher Then Rough” showcasing the bands edgy punk attitude in a 6 song 19 min experience.

On June 6th 2024, Plague Vendor released a statement on their X account. “And we are back to being independent.” In speculation, It’s possible we see a delay on any new music from the band, we have reached out for farther information on the comments. The band continues on releasing new merchandise and performing. Their music writhes with the urgency of post-punk, tinged with the reckless abandon of hardcore. It's a sound that refuses to be confined. Plague Vendor stands defiantly on the edge. We are excited to see where they go and what happens next.
