From Windsor, Ontario, Tarek Jafar and Justin Tessier were friends through high school, and decided they wanted to play music together. Tarek (vocals, guitar) and Justin (drums, vocals) formed The Blue Stones in 2011.

The duo were influenced by legendary rock and blues musicians, such as Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Muddy Waters, and Howlin' Wolf. Tarek and Justin released their self-made debut EP titled "The Blue Stones" in 2011. Songs from the EP include "I'm A Stereo," "Vain Vixens," and "Tire Tracks." The Blue Stones went on to perform at clubs around Ontario, Canada.

The Blue Stones released their first full-length album on November 3, 2012. This album has 7 songs including "Rolling With The Punches," "Make Your Move," and "Eats You Up." In 2013, the duo the duo embarked on an extensive tour across Canada, including select cities in the United States bordering Canada, such as Detroit, Michigan.

On October 20, 2015, the duo released their debut studio album, "Black Holes," while working with producer Ian Blurton. There are ten songs on this album which include "The Drop," "Black Holes (Solid Ground)," and "The Hard Part." After signing with Entertainment One in 2018, The Blue Stones re-released the album "Black Holes" on October 26, 2018.
