Hollow Ship is a psychedelic rock band from Gothenburg, Sweden. The band was in formed in 2019 and the current members are Thomas E. Frank(guitar and vocals), Vincent Vensal (guitar and vocals), Mårten Magnefors (drums), and Donovan von Martens (bass). Right from the start, they stood out because they didn’t sound like most modern bands. Instead, they mixed old-school rock sounds with spacey, dream-like music that feels fresh and exciting. These guys came from different musical backgrounds, some were into jazz, others into rock or indie, and when they joined forces, they created something really cool and different.

Their style mixes elements of jazz, hard rock, and experimental sounds. Think of it as music that takes you on an adventure, with catchy rhythms and imaginative melodies. They're inspired by older bands like Pink Floyd, but they’ve given their sound a fresh twist by blending vintage instruments with modern technology. Their songs aren’t always straightforward; sometimes they change tempo or mood halfway through, making the music feel like a little journey.

In 2020, Hollow Ship released their first album titled Future Remains. This album has 9 songs on it that include "Take Off," "We Came Too Late," "Chasing Shadows," "Magic Mountain," and "We Were Kings." They recorded it using old-school analog equipment, so the music sounds warm and rich, not overly polished like some modern albums. The band released a deluxe version of Future Remains in 2021. The band added 3 tracks to the deluxe edition. They are "Where are we Now," "Air," and "Future Remains."

Hollow Ship released a Live album titled Live From Earth in 2022. This album has 8 songs on it that include "Down to the Wire," "Agent," "Curved Space," "For Someone," and " "The Other Side." It seems the fans and critics liked this album across the board. In 2024, they released an EP titled Animated Music. This EP has 4 tracks on it that are listed below. "Usturo Bune," "Music in Motion," "Farewell," and "Leaving." This EP gave their fans a reason to stay tuned in.

For their latest EP, Animated Music, they recorded the basic tracks live, all in one session, using an old-school tape machine. This was to capture the feeling of the band playing together, like how it would sound at a concert. Their live performances are something special. They team up with visual artists to create shows that are not just about sound but also eye-catching visuals, making the experience even more magical.

If you love music that takes you on a trip, both in sound and in meaning, Hollow Ship is a band you need to check out. They manage to blend old-school rock with new ideas perfectly, creating music that feels timeless, thoughtful, and totally alive. They’re one of those rare bands that can make you think deeply and dance wildly all at once, and in today’s world, that’s a pretty special thing.
