Samantha Crain is a talented singer-songwriter from Shawnee, Oklahoma, known for her heartfelt lyrics and folk-inspired music. She blends indie rock, Americana, and folk to create songs that feel both deeply personal and widely relatable. With her Choctaw heritage influencing her storytelling, Crain has built a career filled with powerful songs, critical acclaim, and multiple awards.

Born on August 15, 1986, Crain grew up in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Before music, she was actually into powerlifting! But just before her senior year of high school, she taught herself how to play the guitar and started writing songs based on short stories she had written. This love for storytelling shaped her music, giving it a strong emotional core. She began performing live, sometimes solo and sometimes with a band. Eventually, she formed Samantha Crain and the Midnight Shivers, a group that toured and made music together until 2009.

Crain’s music has chanded over the years, but one thing has remained the same, her ability to tell stories that feel real and honest. In 2009, Samantha and her band released their debut album titled Songs in the Night. This album has 11 songs on it that include "Rising Sun," "Long Division," "Scissor Tales," "Calm Down," and "The Dam Song." Shortly after this album was released, the band parted ways.

In 2010, Samantha released her second album titled You (Understood). This album has 11 tracks on it that include "Lions," "Blueprints," "We Are the Same," "Up On The Table," "Santa Fe," "Two-Sidedness," and "Toothpicks." This album has a more personal and self reflective vibe that focuses on relationships and life experiences. She released her next album titled Kid Face in 2013. This album also has 11 songs on it that include "Never Going Back," "Taught to Lie," "Churchill," "Somewhere All the Time," "Ax," and "Sand Paintings." This album received wide spread praise.

Ms. Crain released her next album titled Under Branch & Thorn & Tree in 2015. This album has 10 tracks on it that include "Killer," "Kathleen," "You or Mystery," "When You Come back," "If I Had a Dollar," and "Moving Day." This album was well received by fans and critics alike. In 2017, She released her next album titled You Had Me at Goodbye. This album has 10 songs on it that include "Antiseptic Greeting," "Oh Dear Louis," "Red Sky, Blue Mountain," "When the Roses Bloom Again," and "Wreck." Samantha toured throughout Europe and the UK to promote this album.

In 2020, Samantha released her next album titled A Small Death. This album has 11 tracks on it that include "An Echo," "Holding to the Edge of Night," "High Horse," "Constructive Eviction," "When We Remain," and "Little Bits." This album was written after a difficult time in her life and explores themes of loss and healing. Crain has released three singles from her newest album titled Gumshoe, which is scheduled to be released on May 2, 2025. The 3 singles are "Dragonfly," "Ridin' Out The Storm," and "Dart." I am sure Samantha Crain's fans are very excited for this new album.
