TV on the Radio is a genre-bending band from Brooklyn, New York. They came on the music scene in early 2000, creating a distinctive fusion of indie rock, soul, and post-punk. TV on the Radio was founded in 2001 by multi-instrumentalist/producer David Andrew Sitek and vocalist/visual artist Tunde Adebimpe, the group later added guitarist/vocalist Kyp Malone, bassist Gerard Smith, and drummer Jaleel Bunton to form their core lineup. Their diverse backgrounds in visual arts and music allowed them to create a sound that was rich, polished, and emotionally deep. Gerard Smith passed away in 2011 at age 36 from lung cancer.

In 2004, the band released their debut album titled Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes. This album has 11 songs on it that include "The Wrong Way," "Staring at the Sun," "Don't Love You," "Wear You Out," and "You Could Be Love-Bonus Track." This album helped to build their fanbase. TV on the Radio released their second album titled Return To Cookie Mountain (Bonus Track Version). This album has 15 songs on it that include "I was A Lover," "Wolf Like Me," "A Method," "Blues From Down Here," "Wash The Day Away," and "Things You Can Do." This album was considered a great album and made onto year-end lists from Pitchfork, Spin, and Rolling Stone.

TV on the Radio released their next album titled Dear Science (Bonus Track Version) in 2008. This album has 16 songs on it that include "Halfway Home," "Dancing Choose," "Golden Age," "Red Dress," "Shout Me Out," and "Lover's Day." This album was named Album of the Year by numerous outlets, including Rolling Stone and Spin. In 2011, while the band was on tour promoting their album titled Nine Types of Light, tragedy struck the band with the sudden passing of Gerard Smith. The loss of Smith deeply affected the band, leading to a period of reflection and adjustment to this sudden loss.

After a brief hiatus, the band released their next album titled Seeds in 2014. This album has 12 tracks on it that include "Careful You," "Could You," "Love Stained," "Right Now," and "Trouble." This album that marked a shift towards a more upbeat and optimistic tone. TV on the Radio released their latest album on November 15, 2024, titled Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes (20th Anniversary Edition). This album has 15 songs on it that include "King Eternal," "New Health Rock-Remastered," "Modern Romance-Remastered," and "Final Fantasy-2004 Recording." I think fans will be happy with this 20th Anniversary edition!
