Emerging from the vibrant music scene of Buffalo NY is Oscar's Cash. The band is set to release their debut EP on August 2nd, 2024. Led by Owen Brandjes, the lead guitarist and vocalist, the band has been creating their unique sound and building a dedicated following.

Oscar's Cash officially took shape two years ago, though its roots stretch back much further. The band began with informal jam sessions among friends, gradually evolving into a serious musical endeavor. The group consists of Owen's brother Nico on drums, and childhood friends Philip Marcello on bass and vocals, and Jake Cirpili on rhythm guitar and keys. Owen and Nico's shared love for music from a young age naturally led to their collaboration, with Owen's lifelong passion for guitar and performance driving the band's creative force.

The band has built a great standing with their fans In Buffalo, frequently performing at some of the most popular venues in the city. Expanding their following, Oscar’s Cash branched out to Fredonia NY, collaborating with some of the local artist and stoking the crowds.

The upcoming EP marks a significant milestone for Oscar's Cash. Recorded at GCR Audio in Buffalo NY. The process was described as laid-back and creatively liberating. This relaxed atmosphere allowed the band to fully explore and develop their sound, resulting in a collection of tracks that they are immensely proud of. The band is excited to hit the road and perform their new material.

In addition to their own work, Oscar's Cash has been collaborating with singer-songwriter Asia, who performs under the moniker "Cornflake Car." This new project has the bands writing music together and planning a short tour, showcasing their versatility and collaborative spirit.

The band’s writing process typically begins with Owen and Phil, who develop initial ideas before bringing more complete concepts to the rest of the band. This collaborative approach ensures that each member's input shapes the final product, creating a rich and cohesive sound.

With the EP release on the horizon, Oscar's Cash is also rolling out new merchandise on their Instagram page. They have plans to produce physical copies of their music, including CDs, tapes, and potentially records. Fans can catch them live at several Buffalo NY shows and on short tours and festivals tickets around the region.

The band's dedication to their craft is evident in their active participation in Buffalo's music scene and surrounding cities, which Owen describes as a supportive subculture filled with amazing people. He credits organizations like After Dark and Mosh Retirement for their role in booking shows and fostering a thriving community. The band also fondly remembers Sugar City, an influential space that significantly shaped their performances.
