Little Hurricane, a duo from San Diego, hit the music scene in 2010 with a bang. Their music is a mix of blues, rock, and indie that really gets people going. The band features Anthony “Tone” Catalano on vocals and guitar, and Celeste “CC” Spina on drums. Their great chemistry and energetic shows quickly won them a lot of fans. Little Hurricane stands out because they can make really powerful music with just two people. Despite having a simple setup, their sound is intense and deep.

The Duo’s story began by chance. Anthony Catalano, a studio engineer and musician, put up an ad on Craigslist looking for a drummer who liked the same kind of music. Celeste Spina, who had a jazz drumming background but had taken a break from music and was working as a bartender and a cook, answered the ad. Even though she hadn’t been drumming for long, her style matched perfectly with Catalano’s vision. Their different backgrounds—Catalano’s recording and production skills and Spina’s versatile drumming—came together to create the band’s unique sound.

Catalano taught himself to play guitar and was inspired by old blues legends. His singing and rough guitar playing brought back the feel of classic blues but with a modern twist. Spina, a talented drummer who loves energetic beats, gave the perfect rhythm for Catalano’s music experiments. Little Hurricane’s music is all about passionate energy and awesome bluesy guitar riffs. With Catalano’s strong vocals and Spina’s lively drumming, they create a sound that’s hard to forget. Their songs often talk about love, loss, and life’s ups and downs, really connecting with listeners on an emotional level.

In 2011, Little Hurricane released their album titled Homewrecker according to Wikipedia. This album has 13 songs on it that include "Crocodile Tears," "Haunted Heart," "Get By," "Hold Me Back," ""Sweet Pea," and "Give Em Hell." The record is a powerful introduction to the band’s style, with songs that feel both intimate and explosive. This album was well-received by critics and listeners alike, who praised the band for their ability to create such a full and emotive sound with limited resources. The duo released an album of cover songs titled Stay Classy (A Collection of Cover Songs). This album has 10 tracks on it that include "Bad Moon Rising (Creedence Clearwater Revival)," "Money (Pink Floyd)," "Blue Jean Blues (ZZ Top)," and "Don't Wanna Miss a Thing (Aerosmith)." Bravo! Well Done!

Little Hurricane released their next album titled Gold Fever in 2014. This album has 12 songs on it that include "Summer Air," "Sheep In Wolves Clothes," "No Man's Land," "Sorry Son," "Superblues," and "Grand Canyon." This album helped the band continue to grow their fanbase. In 2017 they released their album titled Same Sun Same Moon. This album has 12 tracks on it that include "Bad Business," "Isn't It Great," "Lake Tahoe Eyes," "March Of The Living," "You Remind Me," and "Moon's Gone Cold." This album reflects both personal growth and the maturing relationship between Catalano and Spina, who had become a couple by this time.

In 2019 the duo released their next album titled Love Luck. This album has 10 songs on it that include "Mother," "One Night at a Time," "Off the Shelf," "Poor Me," "What the Stars Need," and "Eyes On You." This album was very well received by both fans and critics alike. Little Hurricane released their most recent album titled Life Is But A Dream. This is a very interesting album as it is covers of many of the nursey rhymes we all grew up with. There are 15 tracks that include "Row Your Boat," "Mockingbird," "Mary's Lamb," "Baa Baa Black Sheep," "This Old Man," "Shortin' Bread," "Shoo Fly," and "Wheels On The Bus."

Little Hurricane has made a name for themselves in the blues-rock scene. They keep things fresh and exciting by growing while sticking to their original style. Their simple yet powerful music and emotional stories set them apart from other bands. Whether they’re rocking out at a big concert or releasing deep, unique albums, they’ve shown that sometimes, less is more. Their path started by chance but has grown into a story of resilience, love, and the amazing music two people can create together.

Little Hurricane has made a huge splash in the blues-rock world. Their music has sparked inspiration in many new musicians, and their lively shows have wowed audiences everywhere. Even though they decided to take a break in 2024 to pursue different paths, their influence on modern blues-rock will be felt for a long time. The duo's beginnings from a San Diego-based duo to a globally recognized blues-rock act is a testament to their talent, hard work, and unwavering passion for their artistry. Their music continues to inspire and entertain, and their legacy of contemporary blues-rock will endure for generations to come.
