"The Epic story of houndmouth"


Houndmouth, the American alternative blues and rock band, with band members Matt Myers, Caleb Hickman, Zak Appleby, and Shane Cody, has been entertaining audiences since their formation in 2011. the band's dynamic sound and charismatic performances have brought them widespread popularity and a dedicated fanbase.

Houndmouth played locally in Louisville and throughout their home state of Indiana. Their breakout moment came in March 2012 when they played at the SXSW music festival where they promoted their self-titled EP. They captured the attention of Geoff Travis, the head of Rough Trade, who was attending the festival and later offered them a contract. Also in 2012, The Guardian named Houndmouth "Band Of The Week".

Houndmouth's debut album, From the Hills Below the City, was released in 2013 by Rough Trade. This album included songs "On The Road", "Ludlow" and "Hey Rose". With the release of this album, came opportunities for Houndmouth to perform on late night shows David Letterman and Conan O'brian. They also performed at The World Cafe and many major festivals (ACL, Americana Music Festival, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, and Newport Folk Festival). Garden & Gun said, "You'd be hard pressed to find a more effortless, well-crafted mix of roots and rock this year than the debut album from this Louisville quartet." On March 17, 2015, Houndmouth released the second album Little Neon Limelight. This LP included their" single "Sedona" and the songs "15 Years and "Darling". They performed "Sedona" on March 31, 2015 on David Letterman. Houndmouth continued to attract audiences with their soulful sound and positive energy.

Houndmouth released Golden Age, their third album on On August 3, 2018. This album has 10 songs on it including "Never Forget", "Golden Age" and "This Party". That was the first album the band released after Katie Toupin decided to leave the band to pursue a solo career. The band showed their creativity and passion with the approval from their many fans.

The fourth album, Good For You, was released on November 5, 2021. Songs from this album include "Good For You", "McKenzie" and "Cool Jam". This album was written and recorded at he Green House in New Albany, Indiana during the pandemic. Houndmouth showed their ability for growth all the while staying true to their roots.

With each album, Houndmouth continues to push boundaries and defy expectations, cementing their place as one of America's most beloved alternative rock bands. As they look towards the future, fans eagerly anticipate what musical treasures the band will unveil next.
