Founded in Oakland, California, in 2007, The California Honeydrops have carved a unique space in contemporary music with their blend of blues, R&B, soul, funk, and New Orleans-inspired rhythms. A ragtag group of musicians with more soul in their fingertips than most bands dream of, turning a concrete commuter hub into a rollicking, foot-stomping festival. Fast-forward a few years, and they’re gracing stages across the globe, bringing that same magic to anyone lucky enough to cross their path.

Born in Warsaw, Poland, and raised in a musical household, Lech Wierzynski didn’t just grow up listening to music—he grew up breathing it. By the time he landed in the U.S., he was a melting pot of influences: Polish folk songs, jazz standards, Delta blues, and classic R&B. Somewhere along the way, he picked up a trumpet, found his voice, and decided to put them both to use. Then came Ben Malament, the kind of drummer who doesn’t just keep time but tells stories with his beats. Add a rotating cast of master musicians, like Johnny Bones on sax, Lorenzo Loera on keys, and Scott Messersmith on percussion, now you have The California Honeydrops.

In 2008, the band released their debut album titled Soul Tub. This album has 12 songs on it that include " Miss Louise," "All You Got To Do," "Bye Bye Baby, I'm Gone," "In My Dreams," "All Night Long," and "Cry For Me." The California Honeydrops recorded this album shortly after their busking days and introduced listeners to their vintage-inspired sound. They released their next album titled Spreadin' Honey in 2010. This album has 13 tracks on it that include "Train Song," "When It Was Wrong," "Let It Go," "All Them Things," "It Ain't Hard To Tell," and "Thank You." This album helped establish their groove-heavy, brass-laden identity.

The California Honeydrops released their album titled Like You Mean It in 2013. This album has 13 songs on it that include "Here Comes Love," "Like This, "Like That," "All Day, All Night," "Just Another Day," "Got The Feeling," and "Bedside Window." This album was well received by fans and critics alike. In 2015, the band released their album titled A River's Invitation. This album has 11 tracks on it that include "Jolie," "Crazy Girls," "This Time," "Lead Me Home," "Rockaway," and "Long Way." A milestone in their career, this album reflected deeper storytelling and musical exploration.

In 2018, the band released their album titled Call It Home Vol 1 & Vol 2. This release has 16 songs on it that include "Coming Around," "Standin' Still Blues," "Your Sweet Love," "Only Home I've Ever Known," "Drop By Drop," and "Star Child." This release celebrated their influences and maturity as a band. The California Honeydrops released their latest album titled Keep On Diggin' in September 2024. This album has 10 tracks on it that include "Good Enough," "See Me Cry," "Singing My Prayer," "Only Love," "Lucky Man's Happy Song," and "Morning Song." This album showcases their softer side without losing an ounce of their signature energy.
