Nether Hour isn't your typical Austin band. Sure, they bleed the city's signature live music spirit, but their sound transcends the usual Americana fare. It's like a pot of gumbo – a spicy blend of Louisiana swamp soul, gritty outlaw rock n' roll, and with hints of R&B and country, all simmering with a Texan twang. Their story begins at the heart of Austin's legendary SXSW festival in 2018. A chance encounter between Bob Flaco, a charismatic guitarist with a wild hair, and Judson "Mr. Cool Runnings" Greene, a seasoned sound guy, sparked an instant musical connection. Onstage, amidst the chaos of the festival, they joined forces with Adam "Atomic Bercy" Bercegeay, a low-end frequency specialist, and Nether Hour was born.

However, their begining story is more than just a meeting of talented musicians. It's a testament to the raw energy and collective spirit that defines Austin's music scene. SXSW, with its whirlwind of impromptu performances and chance encounters, became the breeding ground for Nether Hour's unique sound. The band's influences are as diverse as their sound. The soulfulness of Louisiana legends like Dr. John and The Meters mixes with the outlaw spirit of Texas icons like Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson. Nether Hour doesn't shy away from incorporating elements of R&B and even a touch of country, creating a backdrop that's both familiar and refreshingly new.

But Nether Hour isn't just about influences – it's about raw talent and electrifying live performances. During 2020, many bands were paused, but it became a period of intense focus for Nether Hour. Sharing a house, they sharpened their songwriting, emerging with a stockpile of original tunes. Their music pulsates with an energy that's infectious, a force that can transform any venue into a sweaty, foot-stomping dance floor. Imagine a blues bar brawl soundtracked by a swamp-funk groove, all delivered with the swagger of a Texas gunslinger. That's the essence of a Nether Hour live show.

In 2023, the trio released the first studio album titled Rattlesnake Gumbo. This album has 11 tracks on it that include "Rain or Shine," "Honey Bee," "Whiskey & Water," "FOXXXY's" and "Doo Da Dee Da." Tracks like "Whiskey & Water" showcase the band's ability to weave soulful melodies with a driving rock n' roll rhythm section. Nether Hour released their second and latest album on June 13, 2024. This album has 7 tracks on it that include "Gone/Sno Boogie," "Dancing On The Line," "Air Force 1," and "Off The Wagon." "Dancing on the Line" is a prime example of their genre-bending approach, blending a country twang with a funky backbeat. The album is a sonic walk through the musical swamp they've so expertly cultivated.

Nether Hour is more than just a band; they're a testament to the power of collaboration and the magic that can happen when diverse influences collide. They're quickly becoming a staple in the Austin music scene, and with their distinctive sound, compelling lyrics, and dynamic performances, they are undoubtedly a band to watch.
