Cleopatrick is a Canadian rock duo that has been making significant waves in the modern rock music scene. Luke Gruntz (vocals and guitar) and Ian Fraser (drum) formed Cleopatrick in 2015 in Cobourg, Ontario, a small town in Canada. Childhood friends since they were four years old, their close relationship has significantly influenced their musical collaboration. In 2016, the duo released their four track debut EP titled "14." Tracks include "City Kids" and "Friends." They released their second six songs EP titled The Boys in 2018. Songs from this EP include "Hometown," "Daphne Did It," and "Bernard Trigger." With these EP's, Cleopatrick quickly gained traction for their energy and relatable lyrics and it helped them establish their presence in the rock scene. The duo's song "Hometown" went to number 6 on the US Mainstream Rock Charts in 2017. The song currently has over 80 million listens on Spotify alone to date.
On June 4, 2021, Cleopatrick released their debut album titled Bummer. This album has 10 songs on it that include "The Drake," "Family Man," "Good Grief," and "Great Lakes." This album was very well received and captures their adventure from small-town beginnings to rising rock stars. The duo went on tour in 2022. Their tour included a performance at the Electric Ballroom in London. They also took the stage at the Reading and Leeds festivals. Cleopatrick also supported Royal Blood during their North American tour and fans loved it!
Cleopatrick is renowned for their DIY ethic. They manage their own record label, Nowhere Special Recordings, which allows them to maintain creative control over their music. This independent approach resonates with their fans, who appreciate the authenticity and integrity of the band's work.
