Planet of Zeus

"Not from another planet, but actually from Athens, Greece, today, we bring you Planet of Zeus..."

Babis and Yog found themselves unhappy with the bands they were performing in due to not being able to express themselves, and began playing together, forming Planet of Zeus in 2000. They continued to play together for the next couple of years. Soon after, J.V. joined, and they became a trio.

The band spent the next couple of years playing all throughout Greece with a great deal of enthusiasm and high energy. In 2004, the trio recorded their first demo CD titled Loop 430. With Spinalonga Records, on June 1, 2005, they released In the Junkyard vol. 1, then six months later, on December 1, they released In the Junkyard 2.

Planet of Zeus went full steam ahead in 2006, working on their debut album, Eleven the Hard Way. Serapheim G. joined the band in 2007 as the drummer, and Yog jumped over to play guitar. In April 2008, through Cascket Music, they released Eleven the Hard Way. This debut album had ten songs that include "Eat Me Alive," "Something's Wrong," and "Stab Me."

With their second studio album in the works, Planet of Zeus was selected as the direct support act for Brant Bjork for two shows. The band released their second studio album, Macho Libre. Tracks from this album include "Vanity Suit," "The Game," and "Scream." This album was well-received. In 2012, the band toured around Europe and was selected as the supporting act for Clutch for two gigs. Ihaveadrum Records signed Planet of Zeus in 2013.

On April 22, 2014, they released their next album, Vigilante. Songs from this album include "Second Coming," "A Girl Named Greed," and "Burn This City Down." Planet of Zeus went on to tour throughout 2015, playing at festivals throughout Europe and also had several performances as the supporting act for Clutch on their Psychic Warfare World Tour. They went on to release their next album, Loyal To The Pack, on May 13, 2016. This album was well-received with 11 tracks to include "Them Nights," "Little Deceiver," and "Retreat."

After signing with Heavy Psych Sounds, Planet of Zeus went to work on their fifth album, Faith n Physics. They released this album on September 27, 2019. Tracks from this album include "The Great Liar," "Your Song," and "On Parole." They were set to tour in North America in 2020 but had to cancel due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. The band released a Live album, Parnassos Literary Society-Onassis Stage A Live Sessions on April 29, 2022. Songs from this live session are "Vanity Suit," "Leftovers," and "Them Nights."

Planet Of Zeus is currently on tour in Europe, and we are awaiting to see if 2024 is the year they make it to the United States!
