"Skate rock like no other"

Ladies and gentlemen? Today, we are talking about the band by the name of FIDLAR.

This Los Angeles band has been killing it for years now, tearing down venues with their skate punk garage rock-like sound. They have been featured in skate films, video games, and just about anything you would want to do in the punk rock scene.

Founded by Zac Carper and Elvis Kuehn, the two met working in an LA recording studio and found time to work together on their own project. Years after the release of some early demos, the band took off, performing with The Black Lips and immediately going on tour with The Hives.

With the high-hyped roaring crowds of the tour still ringing in their ears, everything became reality. Zac and Elvis rebranded themselves, and the rise of the band FIDLAR began. Working with producer Lewis Pesacov, they released their 2011 debut EP, “DIYDUI.” This album hit the LA skateboarding community and took the LA rock scene by surprise.

In April of 2012, the band released an EP titled “Don’t Try.” After that, they went on to expand their catalog with multiple singles. Stereogum recognized FIDLAR on their 40 best new bands chart for 2012. But that was just the beginning. On September 25th, they released their self-titled album “FIDLAR.” Almost immediately after that release, in October 2012, the band made their television debut, performing on “Last Call with Carson Daly.”

In 2013, there was no doubt that FIDLAR had claimed massive success, even getting the band's song “Cocaine” featured on the legendary video game “Grand Theft Auto 5.” After releasing the single “Awkward,” the band went on multiple tours and wrote their next bit of music.

In the summer of 2015, FIDLAR released the album “TOO,” and it was exactly that. The sequel to the FIDLAR madness that all the fans had been waiting for. “West Coast” stands true as one of the band's most successful songs, with a whopping 18 million plays on Spotify. It's crazy considering the band has less than half a million people following them.

The band released countless singles and went through some heavy downtimes and personal loss. Coming back in 2019, FIDLAR released the album “Almost Free” featuring the song titled “By Myself.” This song would blast off, reaching millions of plays.

Fast forward to 2024, the band has put out an unplugged album, played many tours and venues, and now they are kicking it with punk rock legends like The Misfits and many other legendary names. They are set to take the stage at the No Values Festival in June. Keep your eyes on these guys; they may be coming to your town soon.
