Ed Moreno and Aaron Korbe, Two young teens inspired by skateboarding and rock n roll, set out to form a band In 2013. Not long after they were joined by Alberto Alvarenga.

2014 marked the release of the bands debut album “Weight Problems” a rippin Punk rock album with some country folk blended in the mix. This album has gained attention over the years and the song “Love is lame” has reached 1 million plays on Spotify.

From 2015 to 2016 the band released a number of singles, including a demo of their song “Want” wrote by Ed Moreno. This song would go on to become one of the bands most popular songs and a greatest milestones. In an interview with media company “The Luna Collective” Ed explains this to be a time of honing, his craft and taking more part in the creative process.

The bands 2016 album “Marcelo Cleveland” came out strong and shortly after The High Curbs took off on tour. On the bands 2016 tour Alberto Alvarenga started fulfilling a bigger rolls in the group and became full time member of the band.

When returning home from tour the band began commanding the Cali music scene. In 2017 they fired out two more singles the official cut of “Want” and “Empty Bottles.” Their song “Want” gained the attention of the skateboarding scene and many types of new fans. In 2018 The High Curbs released their six song EP “Tommy.” And it received high praise, The bands song “Ghost” would go on to get picked up by Thrasher Skateboard Magazine and featured in their TV series “King Of The Road.”

Sometime between 2018 and 2020 the band welcomed Kenny Huerta to the bass position and Taylor Hecocks to the band as second guitar. The two meshed with the band effortlessly and the guys proceeded to head out on tour and start writing together.

“Happy Daps” would be The High Curbs third studio album. The 2020 release was a milestone that made the band reflect upon the diverse sound they had accomplished. Ed and Arron started thinking of ways to expand on the bands sound by adding some heavier and psychedelic elements, this would come to play out in the future.

2023 was the bands 10 year anniversary. Celebrating the success of The High Curbs, by releasing the album “Demos and Rarities.” the album title speaks for its self and hopefully we get another album like this in the future. The High Curbs have been known to toss aside a number of great songs that they claim “they just didn’t like or felt wasn’t fitting.” Hopefully one day we get to hear them.

The Bag of singles this band has released alone, is clearly worth the listen. However when you put it all together, the collection of music this crew has put together in the last decade is nothing short of impressive. Not to mention their commitment to continuing creating, The band is currently working on a new record, told to be out sometime this year.

BREAKING Yesterday, February 27th 2024 The High Curbs released a brand new single!“Couldn’t hold back a smile.”This song reveals the new styles and tones the band has been experimenting with over the past 3 years and only builds excitement for this new album. We look forward to hearing this new work of art and will continue keeping a close eye on the band for any updates.
