Henry Wolfe, a musician and actor. The talented artist who hails from Los Angeles, California. Henry first burst onto the scene as a co-founder of the indie pop band Bravo Silva. With the release of their EP "July" in 2004 and a full-length album in 2005, Bravo Silva made a name for themselves in the New York music scene.
After Bravo Silva disbanded, Wolfe embarked on a solo career, grabbing the attention of many
audiences with his unique sound. In 2009, he unveiled two EPs: "The Blue House," featuring his original material, and "Wolfe Sings Field," a compilation of songs written by the Portland-based writer Peter Field. These releases showcased Wolfe's range and versatility as a musician.
In addition to his accomplishments in the music industry, Wolfe has also made a name for himself as an actor. With roles in films such as "Lying," "The Wait," and "The Good Shepherd," Wolfe has demonstrated his versatility and passion for the arts. He even appeared in the film "Wolfe With An E," directed by David Louis Zuckerman.
Henry decided to move out of the acting industry and deeper into the music business. While initially studying at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, after completing two years he dropped out. In 2011, he explained to the New York Daily News that his true passion was for writing music.
"For me, music was more stimulating from day to day," Wolfe told the outlet. "It was something that I didn't need to be working on a project to practice. I can do it whenever and I get satisfaction from completing songs that I never really got from acting."
Wolfe's talent truly shone with the release of his debut full-length album, "Linda Vista," in 2011. The album, released under his own Undermountain Music label, received high praise from music critics, including Rolling Stone Magazine. Produced by Aaron Older and Nico Aglietti of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes, and featuring members of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes, Dawes, and Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti, "Linda Vista" solidified Wolfe as an emerging artist to watch, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Wolfe made his network television debut as a musical guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on March 2, 2011. Performances of his songs "Someone Else" and "Stop the Train" from his "Linda Vista" album left audiences wanting more. Additionally, Wolfe showcased his talent with an in-studio performance for WNYC Soundcheck with John Schaefer in May 2011, further his growth and status as a seasoned performer.
Wolfe went on to connect the dots, his songs have found their way onto the big screen, enhancing the cinematic experience of moviegoers. "Someone Else" had the honor of being featured in the film "Terri," directed by Azazel Jacobs and starring the esteemed John C. Reilly. Meanwhile, an early version of "Stop the Train" made an appearance in the hit film "Julie and Julia." Notably, the music video for "Someone Else" was directed by Azazel Jacobs and starred the talented Brit Marling.
Henry Wolfe continues, his Spotify account states that he is working on his 3rd solo album. With his noteworthy release of of four singles from 2019 to 2021. Wolfe is building a tremendous discography. He had some performances in 2022. The world looks forward to what is next from Henry Wolfe.
